The Pursuit of Happiness: A Misguided Journey? Peace and Pleasure, that’s the life.
JP Mantra. In the quest for success, people often prioritize things that don’t necessarily lead to a healthy, pleasant, and peaceful life. This misalignment is often a result of delayed understanding of what truly matters.
After completing higher education, typically around age 22, individuals focus on securing a job, which may take another 2-3 years. Then, they dedicate themselves to career advancement, seeking promotions and increments, which can consume another 5 years. By the time they reach 30, a significant portion of their life has been spent shaping their future, leaving little time for introspection and pursuit of genuine happiness.
In this chaos, relationships suffer. Marriages often become agreements rather than unions based on love and affection. Unrequited loves from student days linger, and people may seek comfort outside of marriage. This leads to a life devoid of peace and pleasure, the very essence of human existence.
It’s time to reassess our priorities and recognize the importance of balance in life. Let’s not forget to nurture our minds, hearts, and souls in the pursuit of happiness.”
